In December 2010, a young landscape designer in Bristol, England, was preparing to spend a weekend alone while her boyfriend visited family. She met friends for drinks after work that Friday and picked up some groceries on her walk home. When her boyfriend returned Sunday night, he found the apartment empty, with no sign of his girlfriend. Her family soon reported her missing, prompting a massive search. As the days passed, the woman's loved ones and the community held out hope, despite the falling snow and dropping temperatures. On Christmas Day, a couple walking their dog made a heart-wrenching discovery that confirmed everyone's worst fears.
