This week on #TubtaNabadda, we focus on what it takes to become a young entrepreneur in Somalia, speaking with two young entrepreneurs who operate coffee shops in the Somali capital of Mogadishu, where the pastime of socialising over a cup of tea or coffee has grown thanks to growing stability and security in the city. In the first segment, we hear from Amira Farah Ahmed, founder of ‘The Social Hub,’ a local coffee shop. She discusses her entrepreneurial journey, obstacles she has encountered, and solutions she has developed; she also shares with us the particular challenges that young women can face when starting small businesses. In the second segment, we hear from Hassan Mohamed, the manager of ‘Mogadishu Coffee,’ another local establishment. He talks about his plans to expand his coffee shop's social impact, given its role as a space where people can come together to have meaningful conversations and social interactions, through the use of innovative business ideas. He also hopes to expand into all of Somalia’s Federal Member States. The programme is presented in Somali by Ali Gutale and Faiza Abdi.
