Twitch of the Death Nerve are back from a brief hiatus! For this episode, which just happened to be recorded on the 4th of July, Samm INSISTED on doing a deep dive into Billy Jack. We cover the many hours of cinema writer, director, and star Tom Laughlin devoted to the character over four films: The Born Losers (1967), Billy Jack (1971), The Trial of Billy Jack (1974), and Billy Jack Goes to Washington (1977).
Charles and Jon may not love the series as much as Samm (it could be hard to compete), but we still manage to talk about everything from liberal vengeance to dirty hippies, progressive education, biker movies, the power of taking your shoes off to kick around some racists, shamanic vision quests, and so so so much more. Samm argues that these films remain topical, because Billy Jack is the hero America needs. Maybe a rattlesnake will awaken him from death to go slap some Supreme Court justices around with his hapkido-trained feet.

Thanks as always for supporting the show. Pretty please rate, review, and share! You can also find us on Apple and Spotify and please follow us on Instagram.
