After arriving back from Europe at the end of last year I had my skin checked and it found a BCC on my right temple. Thankfully, they are safer than a melanoma as they do’t spread but it is still necessary to have them cut out. For me it was a traumatic experience and made me realise how lucky I was. It felt like I got out of jail free, so I wanted to connect with people that had been through much worse. Hear their story, feel how they pushed through and used their experience for something so much more.?? That when I came across Georgia Lowry.?? When she was just a couple of months old Georgia was diagnosed with a rare and very aggressive form of leukaemia at just eight weeks old. It required a bone marrow transplant that was the first of it’s kind in Australia. She is now 22 years old and though her Ambassador role with the Children’s Leukaemia and Cancer Research Foundation she provides support to other young kids experiencing similar times to what she had when she was younger as well as more generally using her story to inspire others through a host of public speaking gigs across the country.??
