In this 5 Min Sono Video, we show you the basics of how to identify pericardial tamponade using ultrasound. The key is diastolic collapse of one of the right sided chambers (atrial diastole and ventricular diastole).

If you need a little primer on pericardial effusions (that aren’t tamponade), check out the 5 Minute Sono video on pericardial effusions either on this podcast, on youtube, or on the website!

I’ll be posting all of the 5 Minute Sono videos that were exclusively on our website here so stay tuned for future videos!
