Welcome back to the Unsaid Truth podcast presented by Thurgood Marshall College Fund. This week our hosts are talking about a controversial topic: code-switching.

The question is: Can two things be true at the same time? They can for today’s guest, Michelle Horton, Founder and Chief Driver at YOUniveristy Drive. Michelle has spent her entire life code-switching, from who she is at church, to work and at home. She’s come to understand that code-switching doesn’t take away from who she is, but instead, it’s helped her grow her career, provide for her family, and be more authentic in her roles today.

Dive into this conversation about code-switching vs. cultural fit and even v.s. professionalism in the workplace. This episode will hopefully shed light on a topic that many young folks face as they enter the workforce.

Over the years code switching has gained a negative reputation… but after listening to today’s episode, we want to know how you feel about it. Leave a comment below with your thoughts and tune in every Wednesday for new episodes.
