My guest today is Szifra Burke.
Szifra was born to Yiddish parents, immigrants from Poland to America. She grew up in Massachusetts deeply affected and inspired by her immigrant parents’ Holocaust experiences and their indomitable tenacity.
She has a real passion for storytelling, and for life too!
In preparation for her interview, I watched her talk on WorldChannel about he she got her name. Well needless to say I ended up in tears.
As with the women on my shows, this is one POWER house of a woman!
She produced Browsing Through Birkes, a documentary she co-produced about growing up in her family’s quirky retail clothing store with her irascible, opinionated father, well-liked mother, and their sometimes mistreated but loyal customers.
Today Szifra is an Executive Leadership Coach, Financial Behavior Specialist, and ally of immigrants.
