He discusses his personal experience with cat declawing and the negative effects it can have on cats. He highlights the ethical and medical reasons why declawing raccoons is even worse than declawing cats. Dr. Redford also discusses the legalities of owning raccoons as pets and the risks associated with it, such as Baylisascaris and rabies. He calls for education, advocacy, and pressure on veterinarians to stop this practice.
