Kim Leine was born in 1961 in Seljord (Norway). He has written three books that have never been published before his debute in 2007 with an autobigraphical novel ”Kalak”. This novel was written out of a sense of necessity, said Kim Leine.

Here are some insight from this interview with Kim Leine:

*** I write 7,5 hours each day;

*** I rewrite my books maybe 10 -15 times;

*** In the rewriting, only then the literature comes to life;

*** Rewriting is ¾ of the work;

*** I had to write about my own crisis in life.
