The Didache cautioned the early church to not trust a wandering prophet or apostle who would stay with them for more than 3 days. On the same note, Paul offered a defense of his ministry in Acts 20 by saying that he never "coveted anyone's silver or gold or apparel". This is juxtaposed with the role of a wandering teacher/orator/philosopher in the ancient world. They did what they did for money. Paul did not, and the early church struck forth with that same value. How were you to determine an authentic prophet or apostle? Look at how they talk with you about money.
Join Josh and Murray as they pull apart the Didache and how the early church looked at prophets, apostles, teachers, and the like. Hint: it has a lot to do with how they think about gold and silver.
