Warp Five 137: The H.M.S. Enter^3 Writing the Borg Queen's Origin Story. Star Trek: First Contact introduced a new and unique villain to the Star Trek universe when Alice Krige appeared as the Borg Queen. Some loved her as a villain, some didn't, but no one can deny that she left her mark on the franchise. Even Season 2 of Enterprise had an episode with the Borg, using events from Star Trek: First Contact as a launch point. Previously published novels have tried to address the beginning of the Borg, and other podcasts on the Trek FM network have written their own origin stories. Now it is time for Warp Five to pick up a pen and tell the tale.
In this episode of Warp Five, hosts Patrick Devlin, Brandi Jackola, and Brandon-Shea Mutala write an origin story for the Borg Queen using "Regeneration" as a launching point, and trying to stuff in as many Borg references from other Star Trek episodes as possible. We also discuss the difficulties of speaking English, word pronunciation, and paradoxes.
