Maya Angelou's quote in Glamour Magazine 2012 got us thinking. Why do women sometimes find it challenging to put ourselves first. To prioritize our own needs. And to be on our own side, just for our own benefit. Without exception. Without apology.

MAYA Angelou once said:

“I'm interested in women's health because I'm a woman.

"I'm sorry to say that has been the problem with a number of women. They're not on their own side, nor do they advocate for their own benefit.

And so I think that every woman should be out there thumping the drum, first for herself.

And many might think that’s selfish but the truth is you can only help somebody else if you’re in a position to help yourself.”
