Episode 175!? This week we are giving our thoughts on "Fantastic Four: Life Story", as well as going over some nerd news! In the proud tradition of SPIDER-MAN: LIFE STORY — and in celebration of the Fantastic Four’s 60th Anniversary — comes this incredible exploration of the lives of the fabulous foursome if they aged in real time across the decades! Amid the backdrop of the Space Race, a terrible accident gives the Fantastic Four great powers, a shocking secret, and entangles them in the history of their planet. But as the years pass by, the four heroes struggle to find their role in a rapidly changing world. As Sue continues to fight for social causes, Reed becomes increasingly obsessed with preparing for the impending arrival of Galactus! But will his plans be derailed by the Cold War? Meanwhile, a maverick genius offers hope to humanity with his new computer company…but is hope all he’s offering? COLLECTING: Fantastic Four: Life Story (2021) 1-6 Key Takeaways: The first issue is set in the 1960s, during the time of the John F. Kennedy presidency and the space race The origin story is different from the traditional one, with the team meeting each other in different ways and getting their powers from a cosmic event The series is unique and feels like an original story Sue Storm is portrayed as an activist for women's rights and civil rights The series does move a little too fast but overall it was enjoyed by the reviewers The reviewers suggest the series could be a frame for frame movie adaptation with the team landing in present day and having to explain their disappearance A major event in the series is the coming of Galactus, a cosmic entity who is known to be a major villain in the Fantastic Four comics.
