Learning is one reason Jews have preserved their culture and succeeded in every diaspora country they lived in for two thousand years. Today, Talmud is part of the public-school curriculum in Korea. But how important is study in Judaism? How is Jewish learning different from learning in other cultures? Where does the centrality of study come from?
