It’s a new year; 'time for new projects. This week, Mark shares how staring at an infographic for a few hours prompted him to make changes to his work rhythm and how it kickstarted a new idea. Starting this week, WikiGod will shift to a bi-weekly schedule and Mark will be launching a new initiative called WeMakeWillowdale - a networking group and a new bi-weekly podcast for the neighbourhood.

Then Mark sits down again with with Eileen Henderson, Restorative Justice Coordinator with Mennonite Central Committee’s Circles of Support and Accountability. This week in Part 2 of the conversation, Eileen talks about how her organization approaches the core-member’s proclivity to (re)offend from an addiction perspective, and what the support of the volunteers practically looks like out of that model. Then she shares how behaviour does not occur in a vacuum, how victimizers themselves are products of an unhealthy environment, and how opportunity and friendship reduce one’s risk to reoffend. Finally, she gives advice about how we might respond when we become aware of an ex-offender in the neighbourhood.
