In this episode, Rekha and Lindsay are joined by Lee Wiesblatt to talk about Winona as Spock's mom, weird Star Trek-related trivia, and how much this version of Star Trek fails its women. In this episode there were a few things mentioned that we thought might warrant more information. First, our hosts mention the Canadian film Last Night in which guest host Lee Wiesblatt played the younger version of writer/director/actor Don McKellar. Find yourselves a copy so you can see now-internationally-famous-Canadian Sandra Oh and director David Cronenberg act in a 1998 film about the end of the world in Toronto. Lindsay mentions the band The Vulcan Dub Squad, which are both a Star Trek reference and majorly Canadian content. To listen to their music, visit their Bandcamp page. She'd also like to correct her memory about their masks. They did originate as a mask-wearing band. Speaking of mask-wearing bands, Lee mentioned Lindsay's husband's podcast about The Residents. You can check out Title In Limbo on Soundcloud. And finally, Lindsay's interview with William Shatner from 2010 is available online. It was meant to be fluffy, so don't judge her by the uninspired line of questioning. For links to further information, visit cageclub.me.
