Clara was born into slavery in the year 1800. She was not freed until she was fifty-nine years old. Undaunted by the pain, difficulties, and hardships of life, Clara determined to put Jesus first in all she did. Her story becomes exceptional and inspiring as we follow her life from slavery, through setbacks and sorrow, in hard work and trying times, all the way to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
