Season 2, Episode 8: Understanding Shadow work with Kori Woo.
This week I speak with Kori Woo, Astrologer, Tarot Card reader and fiction enthusiast about doing shadow work.
The idea of shadow work was popularized by psychiatrist Carl Jung who defined the "shadow self" as being the pieces of self that we learned to suppress as children because they were considered to be undesirable. (Russell, 2021)That shadow self stays with us unless resolved or acknowledged as untrue; so how can we do that on a daily basis? How does one do shadow work?
Listen as Kori and I talk about what shadow work means and how one can use astrology, tarot, journaling, crystals and even storytelling to access, acknowledge and understand the shadow self.
We discuss author Joseph Campbell who wrote The Power of Myth – (not As a Man Thinketh noted in podcast) helped her find self, and the magic of crystals in helping us ground and find answers for our questions of shadow.
