To become a successful author is often a journey that unfolds over several years, and it's crucial to manage your expectations accordingly.

At Juxtabook, we use a four-step approach to help authors craft effective book launch plans.

1. Launching a Book Is All About Connection:

Launching a book is all about building new and enhancing current connections. Understanding these relationships can be instrumental in determining which activities will hold the highest value for you and your network.

2. Conducting an Author Platform Audit:

This step involves listing all the platforms where you have some degree of influence and categorizing them into two groups: those you have the most influence over and those with the least influence. Notably, social media platforms often fall into the latter category due to the limited control authors have over engagement and distribution.

3. Rating the Level of Connections:

Rate the connection level with each platform on a scale of one to three, helping to identify opportunities and assess the effort required before, during, and after the book launch to establish meaningful connections.

4. Determining High-Engagement Activities:

Armed with the insights from the previous steps, authors can now select marketing and launch activities tailored to engage their target audience effectively. Begin planning a book launch at least six months in advance for the best results.

Book launches are all about forging connections, conducting a thorough author platform audit, rating your connection levels, and strategically selecting high-engagement activities. With persistence and a customized approach, authors can navigate the complex world of book launches and achieve success.
