Are you being “breadcrumbed”??? 👀😭🧐 here’s how to tell and what to do
Breadcrumbing is when a person gives you JUST enough attention that you hang around, but not enough attention to create a safe and secure attachment.
Examples include-
❌Responding days later with texts
❌Making plans and then cancelling last minute 👎
❌Being available at weird times and calling you last minute to hang out- knowing you have work and other obligations that prevent you from meeting at certain hours
❌Having zero consistency with availability
❌Always prioritizing work and other people over you
Here’s what to do if you are getting bread crumbed or how to tell if you are
1) check in with your nervous system- if you feel unsafe and like you have to grasp for the other persons attention, you are likely getting bread crumbed- a secure connection will meet you in your efforts to connect
2) once you know the is is the case, speak into your needs and experience- this honors your truth and gives the other person a chance to step up if they really want to be in connection with you
3) if they don’t meet you- move the fuck on. There is no shortage of amazing, eligible people out there- the numbers are in your favor. Staying in a situation-ship like this is very unhealthy for you, and blocks you from being available when the secure person does show up!
Remember- staying in situations like this or repeating this with many people let’s you know there is some trauma work and healing to do around self worth.
