Her international breakthrough came when she played Helen in Wolfgang Peterson's historical drama TROY (2004). She garnered numerous awards for her role as Bridget von Hammersmark in Quentin Tarantino's INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS (2009) and won the Award for Best Actress at Cannes for her role in Fatih Akin's AUS DEM NICHTS (2017).
