Stephen King

Stephen King may well be our generation’s Mark Twain. Hyperbole? In our humble (albeit accurate) opinion, King’s name more than deserves a place among the titans of the written word. Certainly he has been Team Diabolical’s most influential wordsmith – in fact, some might say our lives play out very much like a Stephen King tale at times. Scope out the links below to learn more about the fantastical mind of the King of horror.

Our King Monsters

Chuck’s Pick: Pennywise the Dancing Clown.

Those within my inner circle are aware I have a fear of clowns (part of which makes this whole Clownpocalypse business particularly unnerving); Stephen King’s Pennywise the Dancing Clown is it’s genesis. More particularly, it’s the haunting performance of Tim Curry that permanently enshrined the notorious clown into my habitual Bart Simpson-esque nightmares. I dare say Tim Curry’s horrific gaze has no parallel, and after having watched his prowess within the original IT tv series, I defy you to not cover your eyes while passing a storm drain… the last thing you want to see are those piercing eyes staring back at you. [insert audible shudder]

Curtis’ Pick: Fluffy (Creepshow)

Growing up I think a lot of my clothes were thrift store or hand-me-downs (which I think is the first time I’ve typed that phrase), but one of the shirts I had in childhood was a Creepshow shirt with someone’s rotting face on it- totally inappropriate for a child. Since then Creepshow has always been apart of my shirt collection. It also was the introduction to “Fluffy” the crate monster- who is never far from any horror fans mind. The extra layer that he was from an Antarctic expedition made it all the sweeter. Feast your eyes one final time.
