Strengths are hard-earned. They must be identified, developed, and then implemented correctly in order for them to be useful. Regardless of the path you took to embrace your strengths, it has likely since become a key part of your success as your overcome challenges. Our strengths are also how others value your contributions. However, your hard-earned strengths can become your weaknesses as well. It's very easy to slide into the habit of turning to personal strengths to solve every problem, regardless if it's the right tool for the job. For example, decisive people often charge ahead in the quest for a solution. But, often a more calculated approach that can involves taking the time to know when leaning on other's strength's and weighing options is more suitable. In other cases, salespeople who are excellent at pitching may be too focused on creating a narrative that they miss being perceptive and listening to the reactions of the audience, which may cost sales or clientele. So, how do we keep strengths from becoming weaknesses?
