On this episode, Rick Vaive - former TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS captain and NHL Alumni joins me to share his story! I love recording this podcast and meeting different sales people, but this one was really special for me as Rick was one of my hockey idols growing up in Toronto so getting to meet him was incredibly cool!
Rick talks about everything in this one! When he first fell in love with the game of hockey, his decision to join the WHA in the late 70s, getting drafted 5th overall by the Vancouver Canucks, his trade to the Leafs less than a year later, his personal on ice success in the blue & white as well as what it was like in the dressing room for 8 seasons. He also talks about his becoming Captain of the Leafs, the unexpected trade from the Leafs, his decision to retire, life behind the bench as a coach and life after hockey. Thank you Rick for sharing your story! What a ride.
Rick is also a best selling author of the book: CATCH 22: My Battles, in Hockey and Life
