The 5 Love Languages are five very different ways of expressing and receiving love. Because we are all individuals and communicate differently, the way we express and receive acts of love can vary.
The myriad of interpretations that result can sometimes lead to conflict in our relationships, but having clarity on the 5 Love Languages can help those types of miscommunication be avoided
On Season 2, Episode 4 of Stuff My Therapist Says, Sara Makin and Doug Puchko take an in-depth look at the 5 Love Languages. Doug brings his unique, enriching perspective to the mic as he and Sara discuss the definition behind The 5 Love Languages, why it's important to have a solid understanding of each so they serve you and your communication in your relationships, what to do if you feel your love language is not compatible with your mate's, and much more.
ABOUT DOUG: Doug worked as a financial advisor for 7 years where he helped individuals, couples, and families navigate the hardships of life and enabled them to gain better insight on how to best help themselves. Upon returning to the field of psychology and graduating with an MS in Counseling Psychology he has specialized in working with individuals experiencing grief and loss, people coping with stress, anxiety, and trauma, as well as couples counseling.
