Solo chat about the connection between disability and the shame that often comes with it. It's common to want to fit inside the box. The box is safe and comfortable. But what are we gaining in terms of growth by stifling ourselves by the expectations of others?
We can't grow by staying in one place, yet are afraid of stepping outside the box. By definition, shame doesn't even have a direct correlation to disability, yet I hear more often then not those with MS or Chronic Illness falling into this space of self destruction.
Let's get out of the box and throw the damn thing out while we're at it! There's no shame in this dojo!
Shout out to MS Tripping on Air - Ardra Shepard for proving that we have a place to share our voice in the Chronic Illness Community. Plus she makes MS look damn good! @ms_trippingonair
Huge thank you to Lindsay with NEO WALK for creating such incredibly unique and reliable walking canes. Props for creating a fabulous space for all ages in terms of mobility aids. @neowalksticks

About your Host:
Hey! My name is Brittany Quiroz (key-rose). I am a Multiple Sclerosis Advocate, Speaker, Writer and Creator. After my diagnosis of MS in 2019 I made a whiplash career change and found purpose in my diagnosis to raise awareness for the disease while empowering others to embrace the disasters of life.
I approach life with complete transparency and find freedom in unfiltered authenticity. I'm here to break the stigma of what disability looks like while ripping up the rule book.
Multiple Sclerosis has changed my life in so many different ways. I am grateful to have a voice in the MS Community that hopefully provides, hope & inspiration, topped off with a bit of chaos and comedy of course.
Disability is hard. Disasters are abundant. And chronic illness is relentless. But so are we! So embrace your disasters, your victories get enough attention! ~ BQ
