Trigger warning: substance use/addiction, recovery.
Molly is joined by Nick Javas, who started running long-term structured living homes for those in addiction recovery in 2008. Inspired by his own recovery journey, Nick now aims to coach those in pursuit of sober living as well as offer support to employees in recovery homes facing burnout. His unique framework focuses on the key focus he feels most programs are lacking: empowerment. In this episode, Nick discusses the complacency those in recovery tend to feel, why individuality in treatment is so crucial to overcoming it, and shares examples of recovery homes that are going against the grain of what is considered typical - and working.
