The Power of Words. The words we use in our everyday lives has a great impact on us, what we do, and how we perceive the world. By not realizing the power words have over us we often will become victims of those words.
We identify ourselves by our words. Who we are is often identified by how we either feel or by what we do, our jobs and/or career path. This impart, is because we hold much value in the definitions of what we say and do. To say "I'm an architect" is to say I've spent lots of money on school and am now someone of importance. To say, "I'm depressed" is to say I identify as someone who is being depressed.
However, there's a huge difference between someone saying, "have a blessed day" and someone sneering "you rac!st m0th3r f*ck3r!" Why is this so?
Well, there are several factors at play here;
First is your level of consciousness (go back and listen to the episode Why Some Relationships Should NEVER Workout)
The second is your allowance of authority those words have over you. If those words have little meaning to you, then they won't hold any power over you, however, if you value those words or the person who's wielding those words then you'll find yourself submitting to them.
Words only carry power only if we allow them to.
