Bessie Coleman is known as the Queen of the Skies who defied the odds. Bessie was a trailblazing aviator and the first African American woman to earn a pilot's license. Bessie faced significant obstacles due to her race and gender, but she refused to let those challenges stand in the way of her dreams.
