Episode 3 of this series highlights my time spent with Erica Jayne Dahlquist, a licensed mental health and nationally certified counselor, as we sit down to answer the question, “What is therapy?” Counseling in psychology is a very important factor in maintaining our mental health, and this session will cover what to expect if you’ve never been to therapy before, EAP counseling, how to find a therapist, and more importantly how to find a GOOD therapist. We also discuss components of my own mental health journey, how to maintain a healthy counseling relationship, and ways to keep ourselves motivated and healthy as we manage our day-to-day stressors.
