When we buy our cannabis products at dispensaries, we don't always think about what it takes to get them there. In reality, there's a huge web of workers behind the scenes who each play a part in turning cannabis seeds into the huge range of legal products now on the shelves.
In this episode, host Brit Smith visits a farm in Salem, NY, to see where the journey begins for the plants that eventually turn into pre-rolls, infused lotions, gummies, and tinctures for oHHo cannabis and CBD company. Brit follows farmer Chris George around the co-located farmland to discover how his hemp and cannabis seeds are selected, how the clones are formed, and how he grows different plants for different oHHo products year-round inside insulated greenhouses.
Then, Brit chats with the co-founder of oHHo Tim McDonald to learn what happens to the plants Chris grows once they leave the farm. Tim and Brit discuss the cutting and curing stages, the manufacturing processes, the testing, packaging, and transportation of oHHo's final products, and the importance of connecting with the dispensary's budtenders who act as the last link in the chain from farm to consumer.
