Kürzlich hat Taiwans Vizepräsident Lai Ching-te für eine gewisse Aufregung gesorgt, als er sagte, dass Taiwan unter extremen Umständen die Nutzung von Kernenergie nicht ausschließen sollte. Eigentlich verfolgt Taiwans Regierung das Ziel, aus der Atomenergie auszusteigen. Dieses Vorhaben führt immer wieder zu der Frage, ob Taiwans Energieversorgung gesichert ist, wenn auch das dritte und letzte Atomkraftwerk Taiwans heruntergefahren wird.
