Unleashing a captivating conversation, today's episode of the Mental Dietitian Podcast invites you on an exploration of identity, societal constructs, and personal health. BE, our fabulous guest and lifelong inventor, shares an astonishing narrative of resilience, breaking free from societal confines, particularly gender identity and economic constructs. Together, we question the very structures that society imposes upon us and how these models drive capitalism to the detriment of individuals within the LGBTQ+ community. So, get ready for a lively journey with us as we guide you through the intriguing labyrinth of identity, societal norms, personal health, and our relationship with the food we eat.
Who is BE?
BE (Barbara) is the inventor of the Alinker, a vehicle for social change and the manifestation of her “Reverse-Design” way of approaching the world. She is a paradigm-shifter, edge-walker and developed the "Reverse-Design" life's practice.
BE has gained an appreciation of the power of community as a result of her work in Afghanistan, Kenya, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kosovo, and Indonesia. The common theme behind her work is connecting people with each other by creating meaningful social contexts through which people can actively engage based on who we are as humans. Based on who we chose to be.
BE also founded The Alinker Family Farm, which has been in existence since mid-2019. A company that promotes a healthy life by building a community for people who are isolated and dismissed due to a disability, making activity possible with Alinkers and engaging in conversations about the food we eat, growing the food we eat, building a community by us, for us.
