Building a Global Brand from an Outback Cattle Station With Katie Eslick from Little Windmill Clothing
Manage episode 374873212 series 2784135
The idea of starting a business after having a baby and going on maternity leave is such a familiar story
It’s my own story
It’s the experience of so many of you listeners,
And it’s also been the experience of today’s guest, Katie Eslick, founder of Little Windmill Clothing Co.
What’s a bit different about Katie’s journey to building her popular label, is the fact that she lives in a remote region, in outback Queensland, Australia, on a cattle station.
Aside from things like post and courier services being hard to access, there’s no phone service and she even struggles to internet access, sometimes having to climb up a hill near a phone tower just to get some bandwidth!
Kind of a big problem when you run an online business!
But the cool thing about Katie is that she was forced to develop some creative problem-solving skills to be able to work around the constraints caused by operating from a remote location.
And that’s actually enabled and facilitated her to grow quite fast.
She now runs a successful brand with a warehouse and a team and distributes her products all over the world!
So get comfy and listen up while we talk about Building a Global Brand from an Outback Cattle Station!
