There is an absolute lack of Sensitivity in people when it comes to mental health conditions- a lack of understanding and a vocabulary within the mental health ecosystem like frontline desk job workers like peons, and receptionists, to people outside the ecosystem.
Our guest Neha Kirpal, co-founder of one of the popular mental health centres Amaha, takes us through her journey of being a caregiver to her mother and brother, to incorporating those challenges that she faced as a caregiver into a problem-solving outlook.
Digs:
1) Life of a caregiver and the challenges- crisis management.
2) Mental health condition is a family condition- everyone needs to be taken care of.
3)Stigma and the updating of infrastructures and systems
4) If not Gold, bare minimum standard is important for the ecosystem
5) Lack of communication within the ecosystem between practitioners.
6) A lack of understanding n research and multiple treatments for mental illness like schizophrenia.
7) Metros are fine but what about smaller towns and cities that are heavily stigmatised.
