The Fear of the Lord

Proverbs 1:7

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction."

Proverbs 9:10

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."

Job 28:28

And he said to the human race, 'The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.'"

Samuel 1 2:3 Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let [not] arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD [is] a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

Proverbs 15:33

The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, and humility comes before honor."

Chronicles 2 1:11

Hosea 6:6 For I delight in loyalty rather than sacrifice, And in the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

1 Kings 3:9 So give Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”

Chronicles 2 1:10

Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, [that is so] great?

Psalm 119:66

Teach me good discernment and knowledge, For I believe in Your commandments.

Proverbs 2:3

Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, [and] liftest up thy voice for understanding;


Isaiah 47:10

For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I [am], and none else beside me.

God gives us knowledge when we ask

Chronicles 2 1:12

Wisdom and knowledge [is] granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honor, such as none of the kings have had that [have been] before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

Psalm 119:66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments.

Proverbs 1:5 Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance,

Ecclesiastes 7:12 For the protection of wisdom is like the protection of money, and the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of him who has it.

Hosea 4:1: Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because [there is] no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

Corinthians 1 1:5

That in everything ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and [in] all knowledge;
