Let's Talk Wellness - with Host, Mara James

Volunteers are the life blood of most non-profit organizations, yet volunteering may feel like a stretch for some; even more so, nowadays. But what if volunteering benefits the volunteer, as well? This week, Mara welcomes Dr. Adrienne Matros for a conversation about how volunteering is about more than writing a check, and the many positive side effects it can have for our own health and wellness.

Adrienne Matros is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years' experience in the healthcare industry. Adrienne currently serves on several non-profit boards including; Children’s Hospital Orange County (CHOC), Merage JCC, JCCA, Aleh-Negev (Israel) and TLC (Tilly’s Life Center). She serves on several Advisory and Advocacy committees that include Extraordinary Lives Foundation Samueli Academy and CHOC’s Mental Health Advocacy Committee. For the past 10 years, she has been a Team Leader and chaperone planning and coordinating teen trips to numerous countries working with NGO’s and indigenous people to assist in creating self sustaining communities.
