This week on Hollywood at Home, we begin by journeying back in time to 1968 Alabama as writer and producer Jacque Cofer takes us behind the scenes of the hit show “The Wonder Years.” Cofer delves into the unique mix of comedy and heart that goes into creating a show that is at once a period piece, a coming-of-age comedy, and a family story highlighting the ups and down of growing up Black and middle-class in Montgomery, Alabama. Moreover, as she leads us along on her journey from writing for Martin Lawrence, Queen Latifah, Jamie Foxx, Snoop Dogg, and Brandy Norwood, to creating her own show, Cofer gives us an inside look at what it takes to bring a sitcom to life.
