The way the Miracle Soup podcast works is I ask myself “What do I need to hear today?” Then I hit the record button and watch what happens. When I have a guest on, that’s also selfishly motivated. I invite guests whose brains I am interested in picking into. I ask questions that I am curious about, for my own sake. If other’s get some value out of that, I am overjoyed. If not, well then I know at least one person benefited, and that's me.

This may seem selfish, but that is what I am discovering about the creative process. If we create to please others or impress, then it kills the creative pulse and creates more garbage.

It’s the creative’s job to eliminate garbage and learn to make something real.

But even garbage is ok, because that stuff will break down to make compost for more creativity.

I hesitated to publish today’s podcast, worried about what others may think. Do I sound like a fake? Is what I’m saying bad advice? Is it regurgitated BS? But another thing I’ve discovered about creative offerings is that often what I judge to be garbage is actually gold for somebody else. It’s really not up to me to judge what comes through.

Before hitting the record button on today’s episode, I took some deep breaths and offered a prayer to the great Mystery to help me craft a show. The response I got was “Press record and see what happens.” This episode is what happened.

Topics for today’s offering include: -Meeting Kyle Cease -The problem with job benefits and so-called “security” -Why I’d rather hang out with Rumi -Great book recommendation “The Illusion of Money” by Kyle Cease -Learning a lifestyle inventory number system that lit a fire under my ass -A good old fashioned rant In case you haven’t yet, you can leave comments and enter another level of the Soup by visiting and subscribing at substack.miraclesoup.com.

Your likes and ratings for this show make my day, so thanks in advance for supporting my work in that way - until next time, enjoy the ride,

Christoph
