This week we are pleased to have Jon Williams on the podcast. John was a National Champion with Penn State in college and the Patriots 3rd round draft choice in 1984.

Jon relives his time with Joe Paterno. What were some of JoePa’s rules? Jon talks about winning the National Championship. How does winning it back then (1982) differ from what we see nowadays? Where is Jon’s championship ring now?

Jon remembers the day he got drafted like it was yesterday and discusses that. What round did he expect to be selected and why does he think that changed? What was it like going from PSU to Sullivan Stadium?

Wait till you hear the story of Jon and Head Coach Ron Meyer!

Who was the jokester of the Patriots locker room? When Jon got injured, who visited him in the hospital? What did a player do to continue to support the team when they were injured back then? Upon Jon’s release from the team, which Patriot great consoled him? Who was his favorite teammate? What did Craig James do to have John Hannah threaten his life?
