This week's podcast episode is an emotional one for me… I got emotional just writing the notes for it.

I am officially retiring my license as a registered psychotherapist and a registered couple and family therapist.

I am letting go of this final piece of my professional identity in order to step into something new.

I want to share with you today the things that I needed to do in order to make these internal shifts.

The first thing I needed to do was redefine success for myself.

At the deepest level of my soul, what I have come to realize is that my definition of success actually has nothing to do with external factors.

It was a difficult realization for me to make + it was also very freeing…my entire life, I had adopted a definition of success that was completely tied to external factors.

Things like how much money I made, my achievements, the credentials that stood behind my name and in front of my name.

So, my definition of success, as I began to really look at this, is actually intrinsically tied to internal factors, and it always has been.

I've always known this at a very core level.

But I have been so conditioned by my family of origin, my upbringing, and the cultural and social paradigms that I grew up in that I moved further and further and further away from my soul's truth.

My new definition of success…

  1. I want to live a life where I have the most incredible connected, intimate, fulfilling, satisfying relationships.
  2. And I want to have an incredible depth of impact on the people that I serve along the way.

That’s it! Outside of those internal factors, there's very little meaning, satisfaction or fulfillment within the external achievements that used to mean everything to me.

So, success for me has been completely redefined.

If you know you desire something different for yourself, even if it’s a whisper…tune into the episode to open up this conversation with yourself.
