Who likes a good Sandwich? Well you're in luck! August is National Sandwich Month and this week I'm featuring Chicco Baccello on"Spill with Me Jenny D." In this episode, I sit down with Lisa, the owner of Chicco Baccello to delve into the fascinating journey of this beloved neighborhood deli and coffee shop. Located in the Canonsburg and Washington areas, Chicco Baccello has been serving the community for nearly 11 years, with its Canonsburg location operating for over two and a half years.

Lisa shares the origins of the café's unique name, inspired by her partner Nancy's children, and its Italian roots. Initially envisioned as a coffee shop, Chicco Baccello evolved into a deli café, known for its delicious sandwiches made with Boar's Head meats and cheeses.

The conversation highlights the special connection between the café and its customers, who often feel like family. Lisa discusses the inspiration behind the café's menu, which features sandwiches named after family members and loyal staff. The episode also explores the café's commitment to using local vendors, like BreadWorks Bread and 19 Coffee Company.

We discuss the café's community involvement, including creative fundraising efforts like auctioning sandwich names for local charities. Lisa also touches on the joys and challenges of running a small business, the pride her family takes in their work, and the importance of being open to new opportunities. Stop by and try one of their freshly handcrafted sandwiches. (The Deli Dairies)
