[su_audio url="http://traffic.libsyn.com/oneminuteministry/OMM040.mp3"][/su_audio] [ommtop] [su_spoiler title="Click for transcription..." style="default" open="no"]Over the last few decades evangelical churches have sought out more and more inventive ways to get unbelievers into church and to tailor church services for the tastes of people. This approach is probably most famously outlined in Rick Warren’s book, The Purpose Driven Church, where essentially the desire is to make people feel good and then they will join the church. This is largely encouraged through offering desirable worship styles. The truth is, all this flies in the face of scriptures. The church is the body of believers who gather to put God first, not their own needs. Furthermore, Romans 3:11 states “there is none that seeketh after God.” The only seeker in scripture is Christ who came to seek and save the lost, and is depicted in Luke 15 as the Shepherd who purses the lost sheep. Christ must pursue the lost because as Romans 8:7 says, the natural mind is at war with God. Ask yourself, is worship chiefly for God or man? Every time I see these mega-churches it reminds me of John 6, where thousands followed Christ just for what they could get out of Him, not because they had repented and believed in Him. This is not the gospel.[/su_spoiler]
