TCBOO-Podcast-logoTwo movies titled The Hidden enter, only one will leave (with that title) as Herman “OmegaPrime” Davis and Robert Rau watch what the Duffer brothers were up to before Stranger Things — and Kyle Mclaughlin hunt an alien — to determine which should be called The Hidden.

These movies have been saved for some time, but it finally took this trailer breakdown to convince Herman these were worth watching. The first movie was the initial effort of the Duffer brothers, featuring a family trapped in a bunker. Despite a slow build up, the movie has some good payoffs and gives you a good incite on where these guys were headed creatively. Plus, hiding from an unknown danger pretty much breaks down the title.

The second movie is a great ’80s action/sci-fi/gross fest where an alien comes to Earth to party. But since his version of partying involves killing a bunch of people, Kyle Mclaughlin has to step in. This was a great movie, one that was possibly hurt by the title. Maybe ’80s films took themselves more seriously when they were released, because this has “B movie” written all over it.

This one’s gonna be a toughie, but is either movie good enough to call itself The Hidden? Listen if you dare.
