Happy Sunday Night Everyone! Angela Bowen here, the host of Tea Time With Mr. Belvedere: A Mr. Belvedere Podcast. Today, I'm jumping ahead to Season 5 to cover S5E12: Spot, which aired on January 13, 1989. In this episode George brings home a dog for Wesley, but he’s less than thrilled about it. Poor Spot. This dog was so cute and amazing. He rides a scooter, looks great in a hat, wins at pinochle and uses the toilet. What’s not to love about this dog? I really think Wesley's reasoning for treating this dog like a piece of shit because in his words (it's too late, he stopped wanting a dog three years ago). isn't warranted at all and is just lazy on the writer's part. Not to mention Rambo and Winston are never mentioned. They are the two dogs Wes received, in two different episodes in Season 3. The first one is the two part Deportation episodes where he cheats on his history test and has Rambo taken away and then in the Inky episode when Wes fakes his hamster's death to get a dog he names Winston and gives the dog away to a nursing home only to spoiler alert have Inky die at the end of the episode anyway. So much for continuity, writers. I'm sorry but a kid doesn't grow out of wanting a dog just because they can't have one when they're young. Have a great weekend everyone!
