#213: The Operation Varsity Blues bribery scheme, you guys! Last week Lori Loughlin, Aunt Becky on Full House, was arrested and released on one million dollar bail. Thirty-three parents have been indicted so far, and when the news of the bribery scheme broke, the US attorney for the district of Massachusetts made it clear who was responsible, saying, “The parents are the prime movers of this fraud.”

What motivates some parents to risk everything to get their kids into elite colleges? What can we all learn as parents from this terrible mess?

Our esteemed guest Dr. Robin Berman, Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, GOOP contributor, and author of Permission to Parent, admits this problem is “so insidious and starts at preschool.”

So how do we raise our children with integrity in a world that’s feeling more and more like a Lifetime movie? Listen up! Robin Berman, MD, helps us make sense of the college admissions scandal and reminds us of the true meaning of successful parenting. xx Ellie Knaus
