Veteran Culture Radio™ explores topics surrounding veteran acculturation, reintegration, and transitional issues for the benefit of its diverse array of listeners. In an ongoing effort to raise education and awareness levels surrounding the lifestyles of military and veteran families, subject matter experts and related professionals are interviewed to shed light on community programs of interest, explore cultural nuances, to discuss multidisciplinary issues affecting the military and veteran community, to create discourse surrounding taboo transition subjects, and to engage in critical thinking regarding our current reintegration infrastructure. The Institute for Veteran Cultural Studies is a privately held provider of continuing education (CE) and professional development courses for those in the helping professions that work with military members, veterans, and their respective families. Courses presented by the Institute are currently designed, researched, written, and taught by a returning veteran family dedicated to improving the quality of services provided to our men and women in and out of uniform. Our students include licensed professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, social workers, and those in human service support roles that desire a high-quality education in veteran cultural competency. We also conduct independent research on acculturation and the transition process from a multicultural perspective and publish our findings and opinions on matters concerning veteran and military family reintegration.
