31:05Vicki Sokolik refuses to be an Ostrich. Her son brought to her attention the crisis of unhoused youth — youth unhoused, not living with a parent/guardian, and not in foster care — in America, and she has been fighting to support this vulnerable population every since. Most active in Tampa Bay, Florida, Vicki is the founder and CEO of the nonprofit Starting Right, Now, which removes barriers for unaccompanied homeless youth to cultivate long-term well-being and self-sufficiency. She is also the author of the new book, “If You See Them: Young, Unhoused, and Alone in America.” Vicki Sokolik joined host Jay Ruderman to discuss the many ways unhoused youth fall through the cracks in our society, how her organization helps them, and also how to build trust with people who could use your help. Episode Chapters (00:00) Intro (01:10) Vicki’s origin story (02:40) What is “unhoused youth?” (06:40) What should a person do if they worry they see an unhoused youth? (08:19) How have conversations around unhoused youth changed in Vicki’s 20 years working with them? (11:02) How do people get the word out and help unhoused youth? (14:55) Vicki’s new book (16:48) How Vicki builds trust (20:10) What do students receive at Starting Right, Now? (22:58) How does Vicki balance advocacy and direct support? 1:35:27Cancel all video calls, put on headphones and get back to basics with this special Kak Kak on democracy. Who made it? Is it dying? Why care, if all politicians lie? How to tell a good revolution from a bad one? Educate yourself before it’s too late. Father Molotov interviews Dr Irra Waddy (historian of revolutions and equal rights), while spinning tracks from his demo crazy collection. The DJ brings all the arguments he knows on why we should move on from democracy, since it doesn’t work anymore, while the doctor blocks them and pours free knowledge on all presents. This is the last episode of the season so, if you need your fix, it’s as good as it gets. Listen and re-listen to it over your lockdown workouts, share it with your nephew who doesn’t follow the news or pass it to your housemate into conspiracy theories. This show was first broadcasted in Nov 2020 and then edited to rewrite history according to the winners. Sorry if the sound quality is less awesome than usual. Adios…

Live #18 Funky tunes from sunny countries, a silly newscast, a secret society. Somewhere, also a message about respect, and standing up for what you believe in. World peace, equal right, a big ass ecological transition. Very predictable, or maybe revolutionary. That’s maybe why this is also a heavily hacked episode, with a good amount of the disturbance that the hated enemies, the hackers, emit every week. But can they stop us? HA! We are unstoppable… you, me, Father Molotov and all the other listeners together, united we stand, strong against the forces of evil. We’re gonna get them down. And if you are playful, or competitive, more ways to get points for the fantastic game called life. Life on planet of kakkak, if you prefer. Check the scores and the challenges on bit.do/highscores This show was first broadcasted live on 16 August 2020 from a hiding place somewhere in Europe to the World, then edited to hide secret messages in it and increase its awesomeness a little bit.…

1:34:52Radio Kak Kak Live #17 The world is a weird place, but at least we are in it together. Father Molotov has wonky ideas, a thick accent and a foul mouth, but he seems to get away with it thanks to his record collection. And he sure needs you. In this episode he again evokes a fictional character to create wisdom out of thin air for enlightenment purposes. Special guest Leroy Steele (mathematician, super book reader, footballer and surfer with a convertible car) has just discovered a big juicy secret, which he will share with you - if you just click that big Play button. Expect good news, weird jokes, weird cumbias and tropical funky beats. This episode was first broadcasted live on a Sunday in 2020 but continues to reverberate positive vibrations to this day, in this shortener podcast format. 2:22:42The game is on, you’d got to play along! Isn’t life under some perspective just a game? How do we know the universe is not just a simulation where we are the players? How many points do we need to get to the next level? To aid us in our journey to fight injustice without losing sanity, Father Molotov talks to down to earth experts, harvesting wisdom from the bottom of their hearts through music. This week Brother Herman (vegetarian theater maker, gamer, pilgrim, clown & more) shares his lessons from having and having lost faith, gaming and balancing a ball on his head for hours, on a soundtrack of electro Swing, gospel and Kak Kak classics. In this episode the new game is kicked off, for you and me to play along, collect points, win missions and remind ourselves that, after all, even life is on some level just a game. 2:09:12You are not going crazy, the world is crazy. Yes there's a lot going on, and at times it can be overwhelming. However, this week, my friend Father Molotov finds the handbook. An ancient taoist book written thousands of years ago holds the key to deal with the whole situation without losing sanity or joy. And without losing the eternal war against the forces of evil, which is also important. It may or may not have something to do with Operating Spaceship Earth. The episode starts easy with some tropical musical treats and rambling about super powers before getting knee deep into uncharted ancient wisdom territory. One or two truths are read out loud from the handbook, under a carpet of lo-fi gypsy cumbia, afrobeat remixes, dub and reggae. By popular request, there is also a quiz involved. This episode was first broadcasted live in 2020. But it's still fresh, and you are intrigued. Whether you press play or not, you'll deal with the consequences for the rest of your life.…
