If you’re a busy guy in your 40’s, 50’s and 60’s, chances are you have heard that you can no longer reap the benefits of the days of your youth. Society has told you that it’s not possible for you to stay lean, stay fit, and have the exuberance and energy you once felt and had as a young man. These constant messages are telling us that it's ok to not be our best selves. We don’t have to try or stay hungry as we once did when we were young. We no longer have anything to prove to ourselves. These messages are also contributing to a larger problem we are not addressing. Obesity. In the U.S., today, nearly 50% of all men over 40 are obesity. Being overweight and out of shape is the number one contributor to early death. And today more men are passing away at younger ages than ever before. Cancer diagnoses in men are escalating. Men are being put on prescription meds for blood pressure, high cholesterol, and heart disease at younger ages. And more families are losing fathers and husbands by the day. Obesity is the enemy, the one that sits on the top of the hill peering down at us from afar. We have allowed for far too long to let ourselves lose. To take the hill is no easy task. There are no quick fixes. There are no hacks or shortcuts to winning this battle to a better and more healthy life. The only way to win is to work. Every day, little by little. And with the right methods, tools, and strategies, together we can help you stand tall against the enemy of obesity and mediocrity and take back your life. Hi, I’m Dr. Anthony Balduzzi, CEO of The Fit Father Project and Host of this show, the Fit Father Project Podcast. For the last 10 years, my team and I have perfected a health and weight loss system designed exclusively For Men Over 40. 40,000 men in over 100 countries have come through Fit Father Project ready to take on their own hill and conquer their enemies. And now it’s time we help you with yours. On this podcast, we’re going to cover tactics and strategies to help you wage war against your enemy such as - How to increase your testosterone to build age-defying muscle - How to make healthy eating simple and sustainable. - How to become the best version of yourself. My commitment to you is to set you up for success. Truth be told, there will be times your mind will tell you to take it easy, to go back to unhealthy habits. There will be times that the daily stresses of life will make you feel like the only way to deal with it is to eat your favorite junk food meal. There will be times you will feel satisfied with where you are and give up because you’re content. But together on this podcast, we will stay the course and conquer the hill. Biographical Information on Tina Anderson Tina Anderson’s journey into the world of health had a unique start and some unusual turns. She began her career as a trial lawyer who specialized in settling cases by bringing both sides together, a personal passion of hers. Once her second child arrived, Tina left that high-stress job behind so she could focus on her family. Luckily, she was still able to use her considerable legal skills to point her career in a new direction as the in-house counsel for a family pharmaceutical company. But what Tina saw there made her change direction again. Frustrated by the many abuses in the pharmaceutical industry, Tina turned toward the field of natural health and found her life’s work. She channeled her energy into learning all she could about disease prevention and good health maintenance. That led her to discover the importance of gut health and how connected and crucial it is for overall health and wellness. To share her discovery with the world, Tina, along with her husband, created a unique supplement that contains the superior probiotic strains of renowned researcher Dr. Simon Cutting. By promoting gut health and probiotics, Tina shares her passion for wellness, helping others live their best physical and emotional lives. Come join us in Phoenix this August! In this inspiring episode of the Fit Father Project Podcast, Dr. Anthony Balduzzi sits down with Erick Sokn, a 65-year-old Fit Father who has transformed his health and fitness despite a lifetime of injuries, setbacks, and health challenges. From breaking his back in his 20s to overcoming kidney cancer, chronic pain, and weight fluctuations, Erick shares how the Fit Father Project helped him regain strength, mobility, and vitality in his 60s. Erick details his journey from serving in the military to working as an ironworker and engineer while struggling with injuries and fluctuating weight. He reveals how clean eating, metabolic resistance training (MRT), and a disciplined fitness routine helped him drop excess weight, significantly reduce pain, and reclaim an active lifestyle. With a 14-minute improvement in his Murph workout time, a dramatic drop in cholesterol, and a renewed sense of purpose, Erick shares his biggest lessons, struggles, and advice for men looking to take control of their health—no matter their age. Key Takeaways At 65 years old, Erick is in the best shape of his life after years of injuries, surgeries, and setbacks. He suffered from a severe back injury at age 24 but refused to let it stop him. Clean eating and following the Fit Father Project nutrition plan helped Erick lose over 25 pounds and cut his cholesterol from 235 to 161. The Murph workout became a benchmark for his fitness transformation—he improved his time by 14 minutes while wearing a weighted vest. He overcame chronic inflammation and pain by eliminating refined carbs, processed foods, and sugar, leading to a drastic reduction in joint and back pain. Following the workouts, Erick improved his heart rate recovery, endurance, and strength. Prioritizing protein intake was key to maintaining muscle mass and energy—he incorporates whole foods and protein shakes into his daily routine. He emphasizes adaptability in training to avoid injury and maintain consistency. Key to Erick is staying active for family—he wants to be able to play with his grandkids, hike, bike, kayak, and help his children for years to come. He believes that integrity, discipline, and consistency are crucial—not just in fitness but in life. His biggest advice: “Just get started. The hardest part is the first week. Once you feel the results, you’ll keep going.” Want to learn more about BEAM Minerals? You can learn more at beamminerals.com/fitfamily . Use the code FITFAMILY for a special discount.
