Embracing Success Beyond Social Media: A Faith-Focused Journey to Becoming a Published Author With so much focus on social media , it can be hard for anyone striving to become a published author not to feel the pressure to build a massive following. One might think it's necessary to be seen as successful. However, true success comes from following God's plan and staying rooted in your values. Becoming a published author doesn't have to revolve around likes, followers, or algorithms. Redefining Success to Become a Published Author It's easy to look at people who have achieved literary success and focus on where they are now—published, celebrated, and recognized. But what you don't often see is the long, unseen journey it took for them to become a published author. That journey looks different for everyone, beginning with defining success on your terms - not the world's terms. You can view success through three lenses: ours, God's, and the world's. Are you writing simply for personal ambition? Are you chasing worldly approval—fame, money, social media validation? Or are you seeking to become a published author in alignment with God's unique plan for your life? The world often tells us success means going viral, having a curated life online, or selling millions of copies. But God's definition of success is grounded in faithfulness, obedience, and impact—sometimes unseen but always meaningful. Navigating Anxiety Caused by Social Media: Finding Faith and Resilience Social media can be considered both a blessing and a curse. For many people, especially the younger generation, anxiety caused by social media has become a growing issue. To figure out how to find balance in interacting with social media, you need to turn to your faith. The Impact of Social Media on Mental Health Though designed to connect us, social media often does the opposite. The constant comparison to others' highlight reels can easily lead to anxiety and feelings of inadequacy. When you scroll through endless feeds, turning off your brain, you absorb content without truly processing it. In this state, you're not filtering what is true and what is false. Without mindful engagement, social media can become a source of stress rather than a tool for connection. Faith as a Source of Strength Leaning into your faith can be so helpful in combating anxiety caused by social media. Reading scripture and immersing ourselves in God's word provides true comfort. Scripture reminds us that our worth is not defined by likes or followers but by our relationship with God. Strategies to Limit Anxiety Caused by Social Media For those who want to engage more responsibly with social media, follow these strategies: Curate Your Feed: Follow accounts that inspire positivity and align with your values. Unfollow accounts that evoke feelings of inadequacy or negativity. Engage with Faith-Based Content Do Devotions: Start or end the day with a devotional or scripture reading. This practice can help center your thoughts and provide a faith-driven perspective on daily challenges. Seeking Professional Help Faith is a powerful tool, but sometimes, it's necessary to seek additional support. If the anxiety feels overwhelming, reaching out to a mental health professional can provide you with valuable guidance. Therapy, counseling, or even medication may be necessary to restore emotional balance and ensure you're on a healthy path. Embracing Emotional Confidence to Manage Emotions Managing emotions is an essential skill. Whether dealing with fear, anxiety, stress, or the everyday ups and downs, understanding how to navigate your emotions is crucial. Learning to build emotional confidence and manage emotions is essential for mental and emotional well-being. Your Emotions Manifesting Physically in Your Body The brain, the mind, body, and spirit are so interwoven. There are physical manifestations of not taking care of yourself that can lead to both acute and chronic illness. Acknowledge: The First Step to Emotional Confidence The journey to managing emotions begins with acknowledgment. It involves understanding why you feel a certain way and accepting those feelings. This step is leaning into God’s compassion and recognizing that emotions are a natural response to life’s events. By acknowledging emotions, we create space for self-compassion and begin the process of healing and growth. Discern: Separating Fact from Fiction Once you acknowledge your emotions, the next step towards emotional confidence is to discern. You’re saying it’s true that… but it’s not true that… Ask God for clarity in discerning what is reality and what is not. Decide: Taking Action Toward Emotional Mastery The final step is to decide how to proceed. This decision-making process involves determining what action to take once you have clarity. It’s about choosing a path aligned with your values and the truth, rather than being driven by emotional reactivity. This step also includes inviting God’s courage to help you stay on the path He has laid out for you while focusing on your mindset and not returning to fear and anxiety. Having a strong identity in Christ and leaning on Him as you work to build emotional confidence and manage emotions. Building a Routine for Emotional Resilience Cultivating emotional confidence is an ongoing practice. It requires patience, regularity, and a willingness to act. You must be willing to take action. Being in the right mindset to take action Your body needs to be in the right state to logically process before you can begin the A, D, and D steps. The nervous system has two different phases: the sympathetic and the parasympathetic. When you are in the sympathetic phase, that is, your fight or flight mode, you cannot effectively use your executive functioning or decision-making skills. The Parasympathetic phase is your rest and digest phase, where you want to be to logically process and use the A, D, and D steps. When you say yes to God, He will equip you for the calling. It may feel frightening to say yes to God, but great things can happen when we do. Heather Wilson's journey to build GiveSendGo is a perfect example. What happens when you say yes to God? Heather discovered she could bring hope to many when she said yes to God. Her journey began as a foster parent, taking in children who had faced immense trauma. This act of kindness and courage highlighted the importance of viewing service as more than a one-time act. It's about daily sacrifices that transform lives, including our own. Ask God for Wisdom When Heather embraced God's calling and asked him for wisdom, she received His wisdom. She was led on the path to co-creating a successful crowdfunding platform called GiveSendGo, which is dedicated to serving others. It began without any expertise in technology but with an openness to say yes to God and listen to his plans. Embracing Hope and Sharing It with Others One of the ways GiveSendGo strives to stand apart is to give hope. This platform not only helps with financial fundraising, but it prioritizes giving hope. Everyone who starts a fundraising campaign is called and asked to pray together. Standing Firm for Truth and Justice GiveSendGo's journey hasn't been without controversy. They are deeply committed to truth and justice, particularly when standing up for individuals' rights to legal defense and free speech. Standing up to their principles during those tough moments raised awareness for them and helped their site grow. Expanding Impact Through Nonprofit Ventures In addition to crowdfunding, launching a related nonprofit opened avenues for direct aid in disaster and crisis situations. This branch of GiveSendGo was driven by the desire to extend hope and assistance where it is most needed. With so many people being wary of nonprofits that are taking so much money, GiveSendGo wanted to create something different where people's donations are truly going to where they are needed most. About Heather Wilson Heather Wilson is a wife, mother of 6, and the Co-founder of GiveSendGo. Throughout Heather’s life she has found success in many avenues, from building successful children’s ministries to growing a professional photography business while her children were young. She is now on the forefront of standing for freedom as the cofounder of GiveSendGo. Be Fruitful and Multiply: Embracing Multiplication in Business In the whirlwind of daily tasks and business responsibilities, it's easy to feel like you're constantly running in circles. The endless to-do lists and the mounting expectations can lead to feelings of burnout and frustration. However, by embracing the concept of multiplication based on God's message to be fruitful and multiply, you can alter your mindset, apply strategic thinking, and transform your business approach. Shifting Your Business Process Embracing God's plan means you must first lay down your plans. Many women have become masters of addition and are good at getting things done and checking off their to-do lists. However, this often also leads to burnout and frustration because they do not see the return of all their efforts. Shifting from being masters of addition to kingdom multipliers will help you implement God's purpose. The Power of a Renewed Mindset Learning to be fruitful and multiply begins with an open mindset based on Scripture. We've been programmed to do more, and many of us fall into this trap. For example: Lone Cowboy Tract: This is the thought that you need to make something of yourself. It keeps us isolated and small. Anything multiplied by 1 is still small. The Idea of Lack: When you get in the mindset of I just don't have enough ______ or If I only had ____. When you enter this mindset, you bring negatives into the equation; multiplying by a negative equals a negative. Many scripture verses tell us to change our mindset. It is an active process to renew our mindset in Christ and change our thoughts to believe that God is on our side. Facts about Google Ads to help determine if they are right for me and right for my business. Have you questioned whether or not Google ads are for you and your business? Would running Google Ads help you attract more soulmate clients? Are they even in the wheelhouse in terms of your financial resources? Let's explore some facts about Google Ads to help you decide what is best for your business. Understanding the Basics of Google Ads With Google Ads, businesses can potentially increase visibility by appearing at the top of search results, marked as sponsored content. Google Ads are not the savior to rescue your business and connect you with your soulmate clients. However, they can be really useful when you have a strategic approach to ensure it's cost-effective and truly beneficial for your business. Determining if Google Ads are for you You must outline your business goals, budget, and expected return on investment to determine if Google Ads could work for you. Evaluate Your Numbers: Before diving into Google Ads, you must clearly understand what new customers are worth and their lifetime value. Figure out your expected revenue and what your profit margin is. This information will guide you in determining how much you can spend to acquire new customers. Research the Market: Look into the average cost per click in your industry and the competitive landscape. Take a look at your funnel and what you are asking people to do. Are you leading them directly to your website and making an offer? Are you leading them to your website and a free download that lands them on your email list? Adding to the list of facts about Google Ads is that you will be more successful with a better funnel in place. Test and Analyze: If the numbers make sense, you want to start testing strategically, ideally with your low-hanging fruit or best-selling offers. Start small and track what is working and what is not. Optimize your ad spending as you discover what works best. Aligning Google Ads with Your SEO Strategy Another fact about how Google Ads is that they integrate with your existing marketing and SEO efforts. While SEO and Google Ads operate independently from an algorithmic perspective, having a well-optimized website can enhance the effectiveness of your ads. A healthy website that loads quickly and is easy to navigate will improve your conversion rates. Navigate Anxiety and Become a Speaker: How to Move from Suffering to Living and Empowering Others with Your Voice Navigating through anxiety can feel overwhelming, and it is not something that can be cured. However, you can learn how to move to a place where you can say I no longer suffer from it; I am living with it. Learn to navigate anxiety and use your voice to help others. Embrace and Navigate Anxiety Anxiety can manifest in various ways, affecting every aspect of our lives, including our personal and professional growth. Anxiety often causes people to feel isolated, which creates a cycle of avoidance and leads to more isolation. When you can acknowledge this cycle and take action, you can break this cycle. Taking action involves creating strategies and learning to embrace your authentic self, not trying to be who you think others will like or want you to be. Navigating Anxiety is a Two-Way Road Who you surround yourself with makes a difference in taking action over your anxiety. The solution is not that you need to get over it and talk about your feelings to have a strong relationship. Your partner also needs to work on active listening and knowing when to hold space so that you can work to share how you're feeling. Holding space is a powerful tool in helping navigate anxiety. The Power of Speaking Public speaking is a powerful tool for expanding your business and allows you to connect with your audience on a deeper level. You are able to build trust and share your expertise when you become a speaker. Overcoming the Fear of Public Speaking For many people, including those who navigate anxiety, the fear of public speaking comes from a fear of being judged. When you approach speaking from a servant's potion and focus on your purpose to share what you know to help others, it can help you overcome this fear. And remember that your audience is not looking at you; they are there to listen to what you say and learn from you. Stay focused on sharing your passion with your audience. Monetize Your Email List: Strategies for Success Email marketing is not dead. It is an incredible way to stay front of mind with your current audience and can transform your business when you learn how to monetize your email list effectively. The Importance of a Strategic Approach Why make marketing harder than necessary when there are more strategic ways to share your message with soulmate clients? Email marketing allows you to leave the nine-to-five mindset of time equals money. Effective email marketing works for you in the background. It strategically takes potential clients on a journey that nurtures them and guides them where you want them to be—ready to purchase. Creating Valuable Content to Monetize Your Email List Our attention spans in the online space have changed over time. People need short snippets from your emails that help them get quick wins. One suggested way of delivering this content is to drip this strategic content over a period of time that justifies the need for your program. Sharing these strategic, consumable pieces of content provides that mindset shift of thinking that you are the person to help them solve their problem. Engaging Through Strategic Content to Monetize Your Email List The first step is bringing your audience in with a compelling lead magnet . Then, you will offer valuable content through an average of 5-7 well-timed emails. This content will build trust, allow your audience to get to know you, and show that you are the solution to their problem. Video content is key. And it allows your audience to really get to know you and to learn from you in a different way than through text. It may seem boring to you to be sharing the same thing over and over. However, your audience, who is trying to implement everything, needs to hear consistent messaging. Implementing a Clear Sales Strategy It is important to be upfront and transparent with your offers. After your email nurture sequence, you will introduce your product or program and transition that audience to your pitch sequence. What to include in your pitch sequence to monetize your email list In your pitch sequence, your main goal is to get email subscribers to your sales page so they can make purchases. Because you have gotten your audience comfortable with clicking on your emails through the videos in your nurture sequence, it won't be surprising for them to click on your sales page link. The content you will use to monetize your email list will address the different types of buyers and debunk objections to purchasing your program or product. Unlocking the Clarity of Purpose Often, life feels chaotic and overwhelming, causing us to lose sight of our true selves and intentions. This journey not only affects our personal growth but also hinders our ability to live authentically. Finding our clarity of purpose requires aligning with God's plan for us and letting go of comparison. Embracing Personal Growth and Leadership When we find ourselves feeling stuck, it's crucial to reflect on our journey. The key lies in understanding that personal leadership begins with leading our own lives. Without a personal vision, life can easily become directionless, falling prey to the vision others impose upon us. As we engage in personal development, aligning our actions with authenticity allows us to become better not only for ourselves but also for those around us. Trusting the Design A critical theme that emerged is the importance of embracing life’s divine design. While the word "purpose" can sometimes feel overused and diluted, its core lies in aligning with the path set out for us. There's a misconception that finding our purpose is a solitary journey when, in reality, it’s about discovering the path already curated by a greater force. By trusting this design and aligning with it, life reveals itself in ways we might have never imagined. Values, Vision, and Passions: The Venn Diagram of Purpose Imagine merging your core values, visions, and passions into a Venn diagram. The intersection of these elements holds the secret to knowing where fulfillment and impact meet. Reflecting on what excited us as children can offer clues to our innate passions and aligns with our mature understanding of values and vision. This triangular harmony is where the true clarity of purpose is found. Moving Beyond Comparison We live in a world where comparison is a constant challenge, particularly in the age of social media. To regain clarity, it’s essential to shift from comparison to curiosity about ourselves. This shift allows us to break free from the loop of negative thoughts and embrace the unique path tailored for us. Such curiosity fosters a deeper relationship with our true selves, which is crucial for effective communication and healthy relationships. Discovering Our True Identity: A Journey to Finding Identity in Christ Feeling lost and not connecting with your identity in Christ can affect your relationships, career, and overall well-being. Finding and solidifying your identity in Christ can help you find clarity and fulfillment. Breaking Free from False Identities In our journey to find our identity in Christ, we must let go of the false identities we've accumulated over time. These may have formed due to societal pressures, family expectations, or traumatic experiences. Such identities often lead us to wear an armor of perfectionism and control, preventing us from experiencing genuine connections and growth. The first step towards shedding this armor is acknowledging the origin story of these identities. The Role of Trauma in Shaping Identity Our parent's past trauma lands on us and shapes who we think we have to be. We are sponges as kids and absorb what we see happening around us. Often, this leads us to think we have to be a certain way, and it builds self-doubt when we don't feel we are living up to the expectations we've put on ourselves. We build up the lie of thinking we are alone and that it is all up to us. When we feel isolated in this way, we believe that we need to be our protector and that everything we need to succeed is within us. These negative thoughts lead us further from our identity in Christ as we think we have to take on the role of God in our own lives. About Christine Christine is an executive high performance coach. The Path to Financial Health: Strategies to Increase Profitability Embrace these strategies to increase profitability and take proactive steps to ensure that your business thrives both now and in the future. Three Key Strategies to Increase Profitability Ensuring the financial health of a business is a critical component that can determine both success and longevity. Many business owners, especially women, struggle with managing their business finances efficiently, often due to an entrepreneurial mindset that needs shifting. Understanding the three key strategies to increase profitability and reframe your money mindset can relieve stress and lead to more achievable financial goals. The Shift from Entrepreneur to CEO The primary strategy involves making a mental shift from thinking like an entrepreneur to thinking like a CEO. Entrepreneurs often do everything themselves, becoming "scrappy" to make ends meet. However, this can lead to burnout or stagnation in business growth. Transitioning to a CEO mindset means taking a step back and focusing on running the company. This involves understanding the business's financial health and planning strategically for growth and sustainability. The emphasis shifts from solely serving clients to also creating a healthy business structure that can scale. Long-Term Perspective and Planning Adopting a long-term perspective is critical to the three strategies to increase profitability. This means thinking beyond immediate returns and considering the business's growth over three, five, or even ten years. This shift allows business owners to move past the day-to-day chaos and focus on strategic planning for the future. It's essential to consider what the business is being built for and the long-term goals, which could include an exit strategy or building a company that can be sold. Personalized Financial Guidance Based on Personality One innovative strategy for managing business finances is recognizing that individual personality traits impact how financial information is processed. Different business owners require different presentation styles for financial data. This understanding has led to the development of personality quizzes that identify financial personalities and tailor financial strategies accordingly. This approach reduces stress and increases confidence in handling business finances. It's not just about the data; it's about how this information is presented and understood based on individual preferences and strengths. The Power of Pinterest for Business: Tips and Insights for Pinterest Marketing Strategies Pinterest has emerged as a powerful tool for businesses looking to drive traffic to their websites and grow their online presence. You can leverage Pinterest for business success. Learn different Pinterest marketing strategies, common pitfalls, and practical advice for getting the most out of the platform. Understanding Pinterest: A Search and Discovery Engine Pinterest should be viewed not as a social media platform but as a search and discovery engine, much like Google, with a visual twist. Users flock to Pinterest for ideas and inspiration rather than for social interaction. This key distinction sets it apart from platforms like Instagram, where the emphasis is on social engagement. Think of Pinterest as a library where people come to curate their own lives, in contrast to Instagram's bar-like atmosphere where social interaction is the focus. Should Your Business Be on Pinterest? For businesses that thrive on web traffic—be it for leads, ad income, or other revenue streams— Pinterest can be an invaluable tool. However, its utility varies depending on the nature of the business. For instance, local businesses that rely on a community presence may find Pinterest less effective due to its broad, global reach. Conversely, businesses with a national or international audience can significantly benefit from Pinterest's traffic-driving capabilities. Challenges and Successes with Pinterest Marketing Strategies Many businesses invest years into Pinterest, posting content religiously, and still need help to see significant conversions. The cold nature of Pinterest's audience means that engagement and growth can be slow, often taking six to nine months to see substantial results. While warmer traffic sources like podcasts and summits may yield faster growth, the cold traffic from Pinterest signifies a different kind of success. Given the platform's unique audience behavior, even achieving a steady trickle of email sign-ups from Pinterest is notable. Personal relationships influence business success. From the bedroom to the boardroom, creating an environment that supports and nurtures both personal and professional relationships is crucial for success in business. Personal relationships have a significant impact on business trajectories. Discover how to manage these influences for greater entrepreneurial success. The Importance of Relationships from the Bedroom to the Boardroom Recent statistics show that a significant portion of people who experience divorce remarry, driven by an inherent need for connection and security. This insight underscores the human desire for meaningful relationships that impact various facets of life, including business. Healthy relationships bolster mental and emotional well-being, which are critical components for achieving professional success. Integrating Personal and Professional Relationships Personal and professional relationships are intertwined, each influencing the other. Business success often stems from the ability to manage and nurture personal relationships effectively. For instance, setting healthy boundaries and fostering an environment of mutual respect at home can translate to improved business dynamics and leadership skills. Communication and Vulnerability form the Bedroom to the Boardroom Open communication and vulnerability are cornerstones of strong relationships. Expressing wants, needs, and desires clearly and honestly fosters trust and intimacy from the bedroom to the boardroom. Communicating effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders is critical in business. Establishing a personal brand and sharing one's unique skills require a level of vulnerability similar to that in intimate relationships. Therefore, honing these skills in personal settings can significantly enhance professional interactions and build stronger, more trusting business relationships. Addressing Social Disconnection Women, in particular, often have a network of friends who fulfill various emotional roles. These friendships are vital, but when they overshadow the role of a partner, it can lead to a sense of disconnection within the primary relationship. Recognizing how platonic relationships affect intimacy with a partner is essential. By addressing and repositioning these dynamics thoughtfully, women can improve their personal relationships and, in turn, their professional lives. What you think about yourself and say to and about yourself will determine how your day, week, month, year, and life go. It is crucial to think before you speak. When you open your mouth and say things about yourself or anyone else, you are opening the door for Satan to step in and create chaos in your world. If you have found yourself thinking negative thoughts and saying negative words, it is imperative to adopt a positive mindset practice. Don't Speak Negative Things About Yourself It is essential to think before you speak because what you say can be used to take advantage of you. Satan is waiting for every opportunity to distract you and pull you away from your foundation in Christ. He lurks about, waiting to convince you that your identity is what you think and say about yourself, not what your identity in Christ says about you. Examples of why you need to think before you speak When you think before you speak, you will discover more peace. Your mindset will determine your outcomes. How to implement a positive mindset practice to develop the mindset of Christ. My suggestion is to adopt the practice of my 7 Cs which are: Catch the negative thoughts before you speak them out loud. Challenge the negative thoughts. Are they realistic? Would Jesus think them about you? Would a friend or loved one think that way about you? Confess the lack of belief, negative thoughts, negative emotions, and any negative phrases you say and ask for forgiveness. Collaborate with the Holy Spirit and ask Him to give you strength, knowledge, and wisdom to change your thoughts and to increase your faith in Christ. Change your thoughts and the words you speak. This takes daily practice. Control - as you commit to this positive mindset practice and actively do it daily, you will have more control over your thoughts, emotions, and the words you speak. Confidence will become second nature as the negative thoughts decrease and you focus on your belief in Christ as your Savior and what is possible through Him. If you do not actively change your thoughts and avoid speaking negative words out loud, they may become your reality. Words are powerful. Choose them wisely so as to manifest the life Jesus has for you, not the things of the world. You, with the help of the Holy Spirit, can change your life, one thought and one word at a time. Get to it! Schedule a call with me to learn more about my services and how I work with my clients to achieve an effective positive mindset practice. Personal values, dropping comparisons, and building confidence. Aligning with our values is not just about finding personal joy but also about creating a meaningful and fulfilling life and business. The Happy Mom Mindset This book provides valuable guidance for moms and anyone looking to build confidence and ward off the perils of comparison. "Comparing yourself to others or to an impossible standard is never useful. We usually compare ourselves and try to do it all because we fear that we don't measure up but end up falling short of an impossible standard." The Power of Values in Life and Business It is so important to understand your values and align your life and business with those personal values. Recognizing our values is crucial for personal fulfillment and success. Values are not about what's universally good or bad but about what uniquely lights each person up. Dropping the judgment in what you think you should value more or less is the first step in embracing personal values. Checking in on your values Make a List: Write an extensive list of things that matter to you in different areas of your life—personal, professional, financial, health, relationships, and spiritual. Prioritize: Narrow down this list to the top five values that resonate most with you. These are the values that align deeply with your core. Reflect: Regularly check in with yourself to ensure your daily actions and decisions align with these core values. Battling Comparison with Confidence Comparison is a natural human tendency but a destructive tendency that often leads to feelings of inadequacy or failure. We can step away from this comparison trap when we know and honor our values. Understanding what truly matters to us allows us to operate from a place of inner confidence. When we are grounded in our values, we are less likely to judge our accomplishments against someone else's achievements. This shift in mindset reduces the "compare and despair" syndrome and opens up space to appreciate others for who they are without feeling threatened or diminished. More on comparison A New Perspective on Success Embracing your values allows you to reshape your perspective on success. Instead of working towards goals based on societal standards or external validation, individuals can set and pursue deeply meaningful goals. The key to healthy finances is understanding your budget and managing your debt appropriately. Don't let the term "inventory" deter you. Whether you're running a product—or service-based venture, managing assets, understanding balance sheets, and navigating the complex waters of entrepreneurship are invaluable to having healthy finances in your business. The Importance of Understanding Your Numbers Knowing your numbers is critical for healthy finances and business success. Entrepreneurs should stay updated on various financial documents, such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements, to fully understand their numbers. Balance Sheets and Profit and Loss Statements 1. Balance Sheet: This provides a snapshot of your business's financial health at a given point in time. It lists all your assets (what you own) and liabilities (what you owe). Understanding your balance sheet is crucial for knowing how well your business can meet its debt obligations and handle unexpected expenses. 2. Profit and Loss Statement: Unlike the balance sheet, which is a snapshot, a profit and loss statement (P&L) is more like a rearview mirror, showing your business's performance over a specific period. It includes your revenue, costs of goods sold, and various expenses. Reviewing this monthly helps you keep track of your financial performance and identify any anomalies or opportunities for improvement. By regularly reviewing these statements, entrepreneurs can make informed decisions about taking out a loan, investing in new assets, or adjusting pricing strategies which all add up to having healthy finances. Navigating Debt in Business for Healthy Finances Debt is a significant concern for many entrepreneurs. The right kind of debt can be beneficial, while the wrong kind can be devastating. Ciara provides practical advice on managing debt wisely: 1. Good Debt vs. Bad Debt: Not all debt is bad. For instance, an SBA loan or a line of credit can be constructive if used wisely. The key is understanding why you need the debt and ensuring you can manage repayments. 2. Debt for Investment: Using debt to invest in your business, like buying a building or necessary equipment, can be a good move. However, taking on debt to cover operational shortfalls without addressing the underlying issues is perilous. 3. Personal Guarantees: Be aware of personal guarantees when signing leases or loan agreements. These can put your personal assets at risk if your business fails to meet its financial obligations. Turning Losses into Wins You hope you will never be in a crisis, but the key to being prepared if one does hit is creating a mindset of resilience. By mentally preparing and building the right habits, you can navigate difficult times more effectively and emerge stronger. Read the full show notes…

Business strategy for YouTube: creating the right type of content to amplify your brands reach The allure of YouTube lies in its sustainability as part of your business strategy. Content creation for YouTube can continue to attract views for months and provides lasting opportunities for client engagement and conversion. Content Creation for Business Strategy Differentiating Content You want to focus your content creation on what works for you and your business. You are not trying to reach the masses; you are trying to reach your soulmate clients. Think about your soulmate clients and create content targeting that specific niche audience that is ready to invest. The Right Content Mix for Business Strategy As you plan your content creation, you want to create a mix of educational and community content. Educational content should address specific pain points your soulmate clients face, while community content helps build trust and connection. Example: Health Coaches For health coaches, avoid broad topics like "how to lose weight." Instead, focus on advanced topics that address your soulmate clients' specific issues, such as managing cortisone levels or tailored health strategies for particular demographics. Optimal Posting Frequency Trena recommends posting once a week. This consistent yet manageable frequency helps build a library of valuable content that continues to attract and convert viewers. Utilizing YouTube's Features for Optimal Business Strategy Audience Retention and Engagement YouTube provides detailed analytics that shows audience retention and engagement. By analyzing these metrics, you can refine your content to keep viewers engaged and encourage them to explore more of your videos. High audience retention signals to YouTube that your content is valuable, leading to better placement in searches and recommendations. Thumbnail and Title Strategy Contrary to traditional SEO practices, YouTube thrives on engaging titles and thumbnails. Your title and thumbnail should pique curiosity. Instead of "How to Lower Your Cortisone Levels," try "5 Proven Ways to Transform Your Health by Lowering Cortisone Levels." This approach grabs attention and increases your click-through rate, which is crucial for YouTube's algorithm. The Role of Quality and Authenticity Production Quality While having high production quality can help, it's not the be-all and end-all. Trena points out that raw, authentic content often performs just as well, if not better, than highly polished videos. The key is to deliver value and connect with your audience on a personal level. You want to ensure that you provide whatever the title of your video promised viewers you would address. Equipment and Setup You don't need a professional studio to start. A decent smartphone camera, a ring light, and a quiet, well-lit space can suffice. Focus on ensuring clear audio and avoiding distractions in your background. About Trena Little Trena is an income strategist and YouTube expert who helps online entrepreneurs scale their businesses to six figures. Influence: From the Latin "influere" (to pour into), it signifies a life-giving force, reflecting how our interactions can help others grow. These principles tie back to the creation narrative, Holistic Leadership Strategies reject the negative use of power Distinguishing between good and bad uses of power is crucial for a good leader. Authority and influence should serve to uplift and create, not to control or diminish. Many fall into pride, greed, and fear traps, leading to destructive behaviors and decisions that stray from God’s intentions. A focus on humility, grounded in truth and geared toward fostering collective growth, helps avoid these traps. Integrating faith and holistic leadership strategies. Faith plays a pivotal role in leadership, offering a moral compass and a source of strength and guidance. The Holy Spirit is available to believers as a source of wisdom and leads our conversations and decisions, underlining the importance of aligning leadership with Christian values. Faith-centered leadership encourages reliance on Christ’s teachings and the embodiment of His love and service in all leadership endeavors. The role of women in leadership Women have unique power and dignity, particularly within leadership and motherhood. He highlighted women's invaluable role in nurturing and guiding others, whether physically through motherhood or professionally, as coaches and mentors. The feminist movement brought significant progress but also pressures that sometimes caused women to overcompensate or lose their unique qualities. Creating a client onboarding process is a necessary step to continue serving your clients and scaling your business. You must have a thorough and automated client onboarding process. You have worked to establish the know, like trust factor with your new client, and now they are ready to invest in your services. A new client is going to pay to learn more from you. It is your job to make this feel like a Disneyland experience. You want your new clients to feel comfortable and confident that they chose to work with you. Let's make this a great experience. How to Establish Your Client Onboarding Process What to Include for Low Ticket Items These low-ticket items could include a low-priced membership or courses under $1,000. For your low-ticket items, you want to start with an invoice and then present the contract or terms of service for them to read through. Clients should also receive an automated email with links to all platforms and logins. You want to make things as seamless and easy for clients as possible. We are servant leaders. We are here to serve our clients. What to Include for High Ticket Items Your client onboarding process for high-ticket items is essentially the same process. You want to start with an invoice and then present the contract. Make sure that a lawyer has created your contract and clearly outlines any refund policies you have. Clients should receive an automated email with links to all platforms and logins, a way to access calendar reminders and replays. An additional personal touch of an onboarding gift, a handwritten birthday card, and an offboarding gift are all nice personal touches. Keeping this contact with your client is an additional way to let them know you are here to walk them through this process of working together. Client Journey past the Onboarding Process How can you better serve your clients and have a lasting client relationship? Intake During Onboarding: During your client onboarding, you should ask targeted questions to help guide you as you work to serve your clients' needs. 3-month check-in: Check in with the same questions you asked during your onboarding process to continue to help you serve your client. You also want to ask clients: What has helped you so far in our time together to help you find success? It is also important that your client outlines what success means to them(helping others, making more money, expanding their reach, etc.). 6-month check-in: Use the same questions from your 3-month check-in and also ask: What is one thing that is most pivotal to your success that I have helped with? What should we add to the program? What could we take away from the program? Read the full show notes Website for Jeanette Peterson Additional resources for growing your business…

When anxious or in doubt, remember that God communicates with us in myriad ways, including Scripture and others. Have you ever questioned whether God speaks to us in this day and age? He does! God communicates with us even when we don't recognize the need to hear from Him. God speaks to us in myriad ways. Recently, I was reading the book of Exodus. Moses was quite a guy, a hero, in many ways. But when God first asked him to rescue the Israelites from the Egyptians, Moses had a lot of doubts. He questioned why God would choose him and even asked God to choose someone else. In addition, he wondered what to say if people questioned why they should listen to him. How often do you question whether God is speaking to you? Do you question your purpose or your ability to fulfill it? I have. A million times! Trusting in the unseen is difficult, especially when life and business are challenging or overwhelming or when one feels weary. The story of Moses is an example of trust. And an example of salvation. Both apply to our lives today. Salvation is a daily blessing from the Holy Spirit, a result of Jesus' death, resurrection, and ascension into heaven. In Exodus 14 , the Israelites reach the Red Sea, and Pharoh and his army are on their tails. Upon seeing Pharoh's army, the Israelites cried out to Moses that they should have stayed in Egypt and died there. They lost trust in God. Moses told them to be still and watch for God to save them. God reminded Moses that He was there to use his staff and hold it over the water to part the sea so the Israelites could cross it and be saved. When Moses listened, the sea was parted for the Israelites. They were saved. I am paraphrasing and shortening the story. But the point is that God provided help for Moses so that he could accomplish what God called him to. And he still provides for us today and communicates with us so that we know what to do . . . if we listen. How do we know God communicates with us today? One of the best ways to create lasting memories is to adopt family Christmas traditions. Holiday traditions are special and strengthen the bond of family. When family Christmas traditions are adopted and implemented, you can alleviate stress. Instead of being like Mary, become more like Martha and enjoy the time with family. Holiday traditions make shopping easier and create memory-making opportunities for generations to come. “We reveal to ourselves and others what is important to us by the way we celebrate.” ― Noël Piper, Treasuring God in Our Traditions Holiday traditions are lovely, timeless treasures. Scripture provides many examples of Biblical and familial traditions. Many are in the Old Testament, and our friends in the Jewish community still celebrate them today, for example, Passover. Our Christian traditions honor Christ: waving palm branches on Palm Sunday, fasting during Lent, lighting the Advent wreath, displaying a nativity, and many more. Several years ago, I read Treasuring God in Our Traditions by Noël Piper . It was a beautiful reminder of incorporating traditions into our daily lives while raising our children. Treasuring God in Our Traditions inspired me to implant traditions more deeply in my children's hearts. We have always had family traditions. It was a priority for me to establish them as our children grew. I wanted specific expressions of love foundational for our children and, someday, their children. I dreamt of hearing them request certain traditions or share their memories with new additions to the family. Some of our traditions have become non-negotiable; they are must-haves, especially during the holiday season, special days, and birthdays. Our family traditions include meals, special foods, gifts, and attending church services. There is no greater tradition than honoring, praising, and worshiping the Lord with family and friends. What if, especially at, but not limited to, the holiday season, we create new traditions that honor the Lord and set aside time to show our gratitude for him and the blessings He has generously bestowed upon us throughout the year? Not all traditions, however, must be rooted in faith , but when we are faithful, our traditions will reflect love and our relationship with Christ. The goal of family Christmas traditions or holiday traditions, in general, is not to create more anxiety and stress. In Luke 10:38-42, we learn the story of Martha, who, alongside her sister Mary, welcomed Jesus into her home. Mary immediately sat at Jesus' feet and listened to him teach. Martha, stricken with anxiety over her to-do list, quickly became upset that Mary was not helping her. When she asked Jesus if he cared that Mary had left her to do all the work, Jesus said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her." Read the full show notes for the list of family Christmas traditions. Organizational efficiency through systems and processes is transformational for Nonprofits The foundation for success in businesses and nonprofits lies within organizational efficiency. Learn more about how the impact method can bring clarity to your nonprofit. Building a Solid Foundation Starting a business can be a gamble, with 23 % of businesses failing in the first year and 50% failing in the first five years. One huge reason for this is a lack of a solid foundation. Setting up systems and processes and having organizational efficiency are key components of a solid business foundation. Introducing the Impact Method for Organizational Efficiency The Impact Method helps organizations identify any bottlenecks in their current workflows and move toward organizational efficiency. It's an acronym for Investigate, Map, Prioritize, Act, Codify, and Train. Investigate: This first step involves understanding where things are not working well. It requires an honest look at existing workflows and an openness to change for organizational efficiency. Map: The next step is mapping out solutions. It's crucial to look at other systems and, as technology advances, to look at the features of your systems so that you are making the most of the systems you have. Prioritize: Not all problems can be solved at once. Your budget and timeframe can help determine which tasks to tackle first. Act: This is a crucial step to see change. Once you have mapped out your plans, you need to put your plan in motion. Codify: You must document your processes. Strong SOPs allow your organization to retain valuable knowledge when team members leave, or new ones join. Train: Ensuring everyone is aware of and trained in the new processes is vital for maintaining organizational efficiency. The Importance of Client Retention Efficiency in processes doesn't just benefit internal operations; having strong SOPs impacts donor and client retention. These SOPs enhance customer service, ensuring that clients and donors feel valued, which is crucial for long-term success. Marketing with purpose is a key part of building your business. This can often feel intimidating. The key to successful marketing is to align it with your purpose and values. Three Components for Marketing With Purpose Focus on these three components to achieve successful marketing with purpose: authenticity, intention, and generosity. Embracing Authenticity With so much focus on social media, fake authenticity may feel rampant. Genuine authenticity comes from being transparent and truly understanding your purpose. It involves knowing why you started your business and having the courage to share your mission consistently with your audience. Being transparent and honest with your audience builds trust, which is foundational in relationship marketing. The Power of Intention With so many tools and marketing platforms available, it can be overwhelming to know where to start, and frequently, businesses are doing too much. Less is more when marketing with purpose. You want to be intentional about where you spend your time and who you surround yourself with. Think about your soulmate client and look for 2-3 of the biggest blocks that they are facing and provide thoughtful and impactful solutions for these potential clients. Rather than spreading your efforts thinly across multiple marketing channels, focus on 1-2 areas, do them well, and stick with them. Marketing with purpose means being very intentional about where you focus your efforts and keeps you aligned with your broader goals. Generosity as a Superpower Generosity is not commonly seen as a marketing strategy but is a crucial component of marketing with purpose. Giving without expecting anything in return helps build relationships. When you ask someone to meet with you, you ask them for their time. Instead, try offering something that you believe will be helpful for them; giving something without asking for anything in return helps form strong connections and trust. You can provide a lot of information without giving it all away. Consider what you can offer that provides a sound idea of the bigger picture of your services - what you offer and how you help your clients—the solution you provide for them. Bringing It All Together Marketing with purpose is not just about selling products or services; it's about building relationships grounded in authenticity, intention, and generosity. Entrepreneurs can build trust and cultivate lasting connections with their audience by focusing on these core elements. Whether you're a seasoned marketer or starting your business, these principles (authenticity, generosity, and your superpower) can guide you to more meaningful and effective marketing strategies. Empowering Nonprofits with Strategies for Fundraising and Emotional Connections When entering the nonprofit world, fundraising can seem very difficult. This is especially true if you do not have fundraising strategies. Solid fundraising strategies can revitalize your energy toward your mission by helping you stay focused and more efficient. Identifying Your Ideal Donor To effectively engage with donors, nonprofits should develop an 'Ideal Donor Avatar,' similar to identifying your soulmate client . This process involves analyzing existent donor databases to identify who you want to attract. By building a detailed profile that considers socioeconomic status, existing philanthropic interests, and historical engagement, you can tailor your nonprofit's messaging to speak to your ideal avatar. Strategies for Fundraising: Events, Grants, and Individual Giving Your fundraising strategies should include more than just the traditional methods. While events can be beneficial, here are three core areas that should be included in your fundraising strategies: Individual Giving: Focus on existing donors first before seeking new ones. Start with your donor list and create personalized communication strategies for donors who can give more. It is essential to have a detailed donor database and understand your donor demographics to converse with those donors to deepen relationships and increase contributions. Grant Strategies: Your organization needs a solid narrative that shares your statistics while weaving in storytelling to make a case for your organization. Building solid relationships with grantmakers and understanding their interests is also crucial. The Importance of Internal Clarity: Clear internal communication translates to external donor confidence. Ensuring every board member and volunteer communicates the same values and mission strengthens the organization's brand and helps garner more significant support. Emotional Connection Leadership: Building Bonds Within Your Team The concept of emotional connection leadership, based on the teachings of Dr. Lola Gershfeld, highlights the importance of emotional bonds within your team, which are achieved through shared goals and mutual support. Creating these bonds involves proper onboarding, clarification of roles and expectations, and regular emotional check-ins. By fostering an environment where team members feel valued and connected, nonprofits can move towards their goals more effectively. Access Full Show Notes and All Links…

The Power of Faith and Resilience in Transforming Your Business Journey Building a successful business while maintaining a strong sense of personal grounding can be challenging. However, the power of faith and resilience in shaping one's dream life and business is truly astounding. Prioritizing time to pray helps guide your days to accomplish your goals and stay strong in faith in Christ. The Power of Faith in Staying Grounded Prioritizing faith as the center of life and business helps keep you grounded, particularly in overwhelming moments. Starting each day focused on His word through Bible study and time to pray, clarifies the day ahead and reminds you of what is most important. When we begin our day with the peace of God, that is something we can hold onto and look to as the chaos of what the day might bring tries to take over. Redefining Success Through God When we begin our day in prayer and with God, we look at our business and how we define success through a different lens. We all have God-given gifts, and if you have been called to help serve others through coaching, you must remember why. Remembering your calling and measuring success by your impact rather than the number of dollar signs you make brings immense peace to your day and helps keep you focused on serving your clients. Is there a Right Way to Pray? Prayer is a conversation with God. It is an opportunity to share with Him as a father and a brother, a place to find comfort. As long as you are conversing, there is no right or wrong way to pray. When you get more specific about what you seek guidance with and fully share what is going on in your life, God will answer that prayer. The power of faith is in knowing God will answer in his time and finding gratitude in his answers. Navigating Social Media and Business Growth Entrepreneurs are under enormous pressure to maintain a social media presence. This pressure leads to comparing yourself to others and imposter syndrome, which is the idea that if you are not doing precisely what someone else is doing, you may not be an expert who can help others. Rather than putting your efforts solely into social media , building a solid foundation for your business is essential. This can be done through search engine optimization to help your soulmate clients find you. Building a website that speaks to who you are, sharing information through meaningful blog posts and podcast interviews, and building relationships through networking and collaborations are all ways to connect with your soulmate clients without falling into the social comparisons so often associated with social media. The Power and Complexity of Thought Work: Navigating Emotions, Intuition, and Change "Thought work" has become a popular buzzword, especially in the coaching and self-development industries. Understanding and applying thought work strategies effectively involves exploring thoughts and the interconnectedness of our emotions, intuition, and behaviors. Going Deeper We hear a lot about thought work, but there is more to it to change our outcomes. Thought work is not merely about focusing on cognitive processes; it dives deeper into the intricate connection between thoughts, emotions, and actions. Often, thought work can be detrimental. The Essence of Thought Work Strategies Thought work involves more than just thinking positive thoughts. It includes mindset and belief work, diving into how our thoughts influence our feelings and actions. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a widely recognized model, highlights that our thoughts create emotions, which determine our actions. So, in this model, understanding and intentionally guiding our thoughts is crucial for personal growth and transformation. Despite the benefits of thought work strategies, it's essential to recognize their limitations. Not all feelings stem directly from thoughts. Emotions can arise independently, whether driven by past experiences, relationships, or from unprocessed trauma. Ignoring these emotions and focusing only on thought work can be detrimental. Intuition and Emotional Awareness It is important to remember that thoughts create feelings, but not all feelings are created from thoughts. We have underlying emotions and past experiences that create our feelings. Our bodies possess innate wisdom, often providing physical reactions to different situations. These visceral responses can guide our decision-making. Acknowledging these reactions allows us to tap into our intuition and align our actions with our true selves. Many people recognize the value of hiring a coach. However, many others don't realize the potential ROI of coaching and let fear prevent them from working with a coach who could help them tremendously. I recently asked a potential client what would make her say YES to a coaching package. She said knowing there would be an ROI (return on investment) would help her say YES. I figured if she had that question, many others may, too. The ROI of coaching is multifold. There are many facts to evaluate if you are considering hiring a coach. Let's review some of them. Financial ROI of coaching There are a few ways to think about the ROI of coaching. The first is financial. Let's use the example of paying $5000 for a coaching program. If your clients pay you $2500 and you get two new clients while working with the coach, you have received a solid ROI on your investment. Essentially, the work you did with the coach paid for itself. However, the ROI doesn't stop there. You will not only attract two new clients by working with the coach. When working with a coach to identify problem areas in your business, mindset, strategy, offers, pricing, expenses, etc., you open the door for more opportunities. The best part is that you have someone to hold you accountable for implementing the recommendations and strategies you came up with together. The ROI of coaching is not one-time only. As you implement new strategies, adopt a better mindset, and make changes within your business, you create a lifetime of earning potential. You will attract not only one or two new clients but many more for years to come. For example, if you work with a coach and implement suggested strategies and you get 100 new clients, you have now made $250,000—you have an ROI of 50 times your investment. In addition, if you improve your mindset and simplify your business model, you will save time, energy, and money and have a better quality of life. Together, you create a lifetime of limitless earning potential. If you are tired of feeling overwhelmed, second-guessing yourself, feeling frustrated, and not seeing the results you want, consider hiring a coach.
